Beet pulp –

Is an excellent source of fermentable and non-fermentable fibre, which helps to promote normal bowel function, with small firm stools. Although beet pulp has been reported to cause coat pigmentation changes, recent studies have shown that pigmentation problems are more likely due to insufficient tyrosine in the diet and are not connected with any specific ingredients.

Brewers rice –
Is the small fragments of rice kernels that have been separated from the larger kernels of milled rice (AAFCO, 2002). Brewer's rice is a good source of digestible carbohydrate.

Cellulose –
Is a good source of insoluble fibre which can help promote normal bowel function and help prevent constipation.

Chicken
This is a meat ingredient added in its fresh format. Chicken has a higher moisture content than chicken meal, and as such is not as concentrated a source of protein. The higher moisture content in chicken contributes to a stronger aroma and higher palatability.

Chicken meal –
Is an excellent source of highly digestible protein; it is low in moisture and is a very concentrated source of protein.

Chicory extract –
Is a source of fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS), which are natural fibres that help promote the growth of beneficial bacteria in the intestines at the expense of harmful bacteria.

Corn –
Is a highly digestible source of energy. Moreover, studies have shown that corn is rarely allergenic for pets.

Corn gluten meal –
Is protein extracted from the germ of a grain of corn. It is a high quality source of digestible protein (protein digestibility over 85%).

Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate –
These are the building blocks of cartilage tissue and can help support cartilage regeneration and joint health. This is particularly important in large, heavy-set breeds which are subject to greater joint stress.

Marigold extract –
Is a unique source of Lutein, an important antioxidant which has been linked to normal eye function. Lutein supplementation may help reduce the risk of cataracts in older pets.

Salt –
Is is an essential nutrient for all animals. In some diets, salt is supplied naturally from ingredients and does not need to be added to the diet. In other diets, salt must be added in order to meet the requirements of the pet.

Soy Protein Isolate –
Soy protein isolate is an expensive ingredient derived by extracting the protein from soybean meal. This ingredient has all the benefits of soy protein, without the negative effects associated with the fibre components of soybean meal. Soy protein isolate has a protein digestibility of over 95%.

Vitamin C –
Although not considered an essential nutrient for dogs and cats, this vitamin acts as an antioxidant and may help boost immune function, thereby helping to protect DNA from damage.
