Russo-European Laikas are descended from hunting Laika breeds from northern European Russia. A large number are now used in central Russia. They have been bred in large breeding centers for many years now.Russo-European Laikas have the same physical and behavioral characteristics as their West and East Siberian cousins, although they are smaller. Their coat and size are similar to Karelian Bear Dogs and, indeed, they also hunt bear.
