Seeing Eye Dogs Australia (SEDA) aims to enhance the mobility and independence of people who are blind or vision impaired throughout Australia by providing Seeing Eye Dogs, mobility training and rehabilitation services free of charge.
SEDA is the only national trainer and provider of Seeing Eye Dogs in Australia and has been helping people who are blind or vision impaired for 47 years. These unique dogs provide the ‘gift of independence’ and freedom in day-to-day life by becoming the ‘eyes’ of a person who is blind or vision impaired.
Currently in Australia there are 480,000 aged over 40 with considerable vision impairment and 50,000 of these people are legally blind.
Royal Canin recognize, acknowledge and support the remarkable service provided by the Seeing Eye Dogs Australia. A family business for over 20 years, Craig Murray Dogs School specializes in obedience, behavior modification, specialized training (law enforcement and rescue dogs) and puppy kindergarten classes.
The Dog School trains assistance dogs to enhance the quality of life of physically or mentally challenged persons whilst still maintaining as much independence for the handler. This means that the dog will be a permanent working companion for the disabled handler and will assist with a myriad of task work but whilst still having the handler work and interact as much as physically or mentally possible.
Royal Canin recognize, acknowledge and support this professional service provided by the Craig A. Murray Dog School.
The Royal Society for the Blind (RSB) is the primary source of assistance for over 10,500 people who are blind or vision impaired in South Australia. RSB offers the opportunity for the blind or vision impaired to live independently in the community and improve their quality of life.
